Four days flying the Q flag is ridiculous. You would think the sooner they get you checked in the sooner and longer you are spending money. I guess that thought escapes them. You have a knack for finding other Norwegians. They have a nice place. Thanks for sharing.
Now the subtitles are working just fine 👍🏽 so non Scandinavians can get a grasp. Thnx for all your sharing of knowledge and experience 👌🏽 It is a very good help for us who plan to sail the same waters ⛵️ Kind of reevaluating on many sailing related topics.
I was excited to see your impressions of Vanuatu. Unfortunately it’s not the place it once was and corruption truly is their biggest issue. I have no issues with progress but as usual the local population will be the ones paying for it. Coming from a family that worked as civil servants and spent several years in Vanuatu and other SP nations I can say that your observations are correct. On a lighter note, the Fung Kuei store has been there for decades and has always been a favorite stop for anything from Tires to electronics, good people to deal with. Looking forward to the next part of your journey, stay safe.
Thanks for sharing the visit to Vanuatu and also for your great saying that i look forward to stealing , 'you can't solve all the worlds problems with just one beer, so better have another beer!' I love it . Take care and looking forward to your next video.
Once again thanks for your honest remarks on the island. Corruption is evident in all countries. In poor nations more easy to see. Worse in super developed so called West world where cittizens are living with the illusion that they live in a less corrupted world. Safe travels Thomas
Thank you Thomas for showing composer in your travels. I have heard nothing but horror stories from a few South Pacific islands that has ruined it for all the other South Pacific islands. How in the world do you only have 22k subscribers?!? Let’s go peeps, share these awesome videos! ⛵️🎣⚓️🍻🤟🏽. THANK YOU THOMAS‼️
Wow... a very compelling vid without a doubt... notwithstanding, the Pacific is appearing more and more uninviting than previously imagined... 4 days to check in... I agree that is nuts... maybe something to do with the TC season... Anyway, enjoyable and entertaining to watch this part of the world and the issues that surround... You probably will need that tertiary beer... Laff... Fair Winds...
Thomas, you really are an interesting fellow😁 Thank you for sharing your observations and thoughts with us. Make this channel " come a live"/ true/ honest, more than just saling and "boatwork". Though I of course love the sailing part, and the possibility to experience places that I otherwise proberly never have the opportunity to come so close. So, thanks again Thomas for a great video!!❤ (And once more I begging you to share you thougts on how to protect against lightningstrikes 🤓👍) See you in the next one 🥰
I sailed all the islands in the 80. it was a different storry.everything easy, now i m in asia, you will have your fun with the administrations. after covit they are all nuts. cheers and fair winds
Friends of ours that left Fiji before us ended up stopping there because of a rigging problem. After 7 days they gave up trying to check in and left for Indonesia. Thankfully they were allowed to fix their problem first!
Another sailor was there and her experience , at least once she left the big tourism places, including the Volcano, was very different. There are some extremely remote places there, remote islands that are absolutely not visited. Once you get your acquaintance systems working with the locals, it can be quite pleasant. Each place has some kind of entrance fee, with these I wouldn't be surprised its fishing gear !
Thomas I am enjoying this cyclone dodging passage that you navigate, in regards to climate change being a religion I would go one step further and call it a cult.
RUclips having "trouble" posting comments here today; probably b/c everyone is agreeing with Thomas about deep water. My post about election by lottery still isn't listed after 15 minutes.
Really liked your comments about global warming, or more correctly global corruption. This is by far the biggest problem, the unbelievable greed of the so called elites. Everyone regardless of who you are can only sleep in one bed and eat of one plate at a time. Love life, live life one life. Great content as ever Thomas.
Research indicates a positive correlation between bureaucracy and corruption. Therefore, in countries with high levels of corruption, you will often find higher levels of bureaucracy. The time you've lost dealing with red tape can be significantly reduced by offering bribes to bypass it (I'm not advocating bribery, just explaining how it works). One way to address this issue is by reducing administrative complexity. The fee you had to pay just to withdraw money from an ATM is designed to keep people carrying cash in their wallets, which facilitates bribes and a whole bunch of small crimes. Their system is rigged, lol.
How true…. “You can’t fix the world’s problems with only one beer”. Well said!!! 🍻

"Because I could not solve the world's problems with only one beer, I think it's time to get another one." -Thomas
Maybe they have to check in the cruise ships first before they check the smaller boats. Just a thought.
Make an ocean sailing sounds video to sleep to. Many RUclips’s of sleeping rain sounds.
😎
Thomas, you'll have to switch to whiskey if you're going to solve "corruption".
Thomas I am enjoying this cyclone dodging passage that you navigate, in regards to climate change being a religion I would go one step further and call it a cult.
If it is an unplanned stop, how do you manage to file your pre arrival documents if you don't have internet at sea?
maybe 3 beers to come to a consultation.

Now you know why you are the only sailboat in the harbor.
